LAUNCHING A FIRST OF ITS KIND ELITE SPORTS FACILITY
Campaign delivery for The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance
The challenge
We had to support our client, HCA, in their launch of The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance – a first of its kind, £18 million sports facility to be used by elite athletes, while supporting the local community.
In order for the facility to have a successful launch, we had to produce a number of deliverables across different media – digital, print, video and photography. All of which had to be completed in less than 12 weeks.
The Solution
After holding a client workshop to ascertain their requirements, and given the short time frame, it was important that each phase and deliverable of the project was carefully planned and scheduled. With this in mind, we created a project timeline in agreement with HCA.
Digital
We started by producing a landing page, including a countdown to the facility opening. Once this was live, work on the main site could begin. This included the development of a complex multi-level menu, which had to work across various devices.
Lead generating quick enquiry form
We made sure contacting MIHP was always just a click away by creating a quick enquiry drawer at the top of the site.
Multi-functional specialist finder
Finding the right specialist was a core goal of the website. We created an user-friendly system that filters results by consultant speciality, name and part of body they specialise in.
Video & Photography
A large amount of video was required for the website, launch event and media packs, including both live action and talking head footage. Due to the amount of footage needed, the shoot was carried out over two days, with an additional film crew and all models sourced by us.
In addition to the video production, photography was needed for each of the services that the facility provided. This could then be used for all future marketing material.
For the launch event a number of printed materials were needed to distribute among visitors; folders, brochures, leaflets and banners. As this is an elite facility, the print needed to be of the highest standard, Soft Touch Lamination and Spot UV processes were used on all collateral.

After months of planning and preparation the end result was an extremely successful launch for the client, involving hundreds of stakeholders, national media and athletes. It was covered by both the BBC and Sky Sports News, while various aspects of the deliverables were covered on social media.
From a client perspective, HCA was delighted with all the hard work, effort and service we had provided throughout, resulting in us committing to further work.
