In this series, we’re helping you get to know more of our team members. This month, we’re saying hello to Lauren, who is our Digital PR Manager – and exposé Queen.
What series are you currently watching?
Generally I split my viewing time between trashy reality TV and documentaries about crime, wars, politics or history (I like to keep it balanced). At the moment, I’m thrilled that RuPaul’s Drag Race is back 🙌
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
I’m originally from Worcester, in the midlands (not the ‘south’!), so I like to go back and see my family and friends once a month. But if I’m at home, it’s usually a mixture of day time walking in the park or hitting the arcades in Blackpool with my 4 year old – and then drinks with friends.
What would your Death Row meal be?
Probably a cheeseboard, a burger from Five Guys, and a Chateaubriand (medium rare), with a bottle of Rioja. And some tangfastics 🤷♀️
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Loud eaters! There is no excuse.
Name three apps that you couldn’t live without
- Apple News
Where do you get your news from?
Again, I like to keep it balanced, especially with working in PR – plus my passions for culture and politics – I try to read news from as many different sources as possible. I tend to read the Guardian, Daily Mail, Sky News, Reddit – that covers most bases.
What has been your proudest achievement so far?
Building 135 links with a story about a puddle.
What career advice would you give to your 16 year old self?
Well when I was 16, I wanted to be a lingerie designer so I guess – don’t do that!
Describe your personality in three words
- Low-key geeky
If you could do anything in life, besides what you’re doing now, what would you do?
When I was 18 my life ambitions were to abolish the death penalty and improve women’s rights in West Africa, so probably something to do with human rights or politics.
And lastly, what would be the name of your memoir?
